A local soccer coach and trainer is accused of secretly recording women changing clothes at his home.?The victims stated they were there for a training session.
Craig Rhodis, 42, of Liberty Township, has been charged with voyeurism. According to the Butler County Sheriff's Office, a 17-year-old female reported being video recorded while changing clothes in a bathroom at Rhodis' home.?
An investigation into the report confirmed her claim, and identified a second, 21-year-old female who was also recorded while changing clothes at his home.
Rhodis served as the?coaching director and trainer at the?Fairfield Optimist Soccer Club?(FOSC). In a statement released Tuesday to FOX19, FOSC President Nick Goodwin writes:
In light of today's events, the Fairfield Optimist Soccer Club (FOSC) Board of Directors has suspended Craig Rhodis as Director of Coaching for FOSC effective immediately.? The FOSC Board of Directors is working diligently to plan ahead for our fall season.? There will be no further comment at this time.
Rhodis is a graduate of Fairfield High School and went on to play at Thomas More College, becoming the school's all-time leading scorer in just two years.
He later signed on to play professionally for a number of professional teams, including the Cincinnati Cheetahs and?Cincinnati Kings. He has won several championships, coached many area teams and was recently named head coach of the United States National Arena Soccer Team.
An online article published about Rhodis in 2009 by Today's Pulse?stated he was?married with two children.
He was charged with two counts of voyeurism, which are first-degree misdemeanors.
Deputies say he was taken to the Butler County Jail and released on Monday evening after posting a $2,000 bond.
